Peter Alexander

Peter Alexander is highly regarded for his superior skills as a negotiator and strategist, earning him respect from leaders in business, community and politics. Known for his intelligent and effective approach, he brings a range of sought-after qualities to his role at CPR. 

Peter has had a distinguished career as an advocate for Australia’s police officers, as long-standing President of both the Police Association of South Australia and the Police Federation of Australia. His term as President has seen policing in Australia enter a new era, reflecting the challenges facing our community including significant expansion of the police force. During his term in these roles he has developed strong relationships throughout politics at both Federal and State levels.

A qualified solicitor, Peter began his career as a police officer and spent 22 years in the Criminal Investigation Branch before joining the Police Association. In 2001 he was awarded the Australian Police Medal for outstanding service to the profession.

Peter’s active work in the community includes a long history with SANFL football, including as Chairman of the South Adelaide Football Club and a director of the SANFL. He was awarded SANFL Life Membership in 2003. He is President of the Charles Kingston Society.
