Garrie Gibson served as the Federal Member for Moreton (Qld) in the House of Representatives 1990 – 1996. He has been involved in politics for more than 35 years in both Queensland and NSW and also provides strategic counsel for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations.

In 1997 – 1998, Garrie was Executive Director of Clubs Queensland, responsible for Government Relations, Sponsorship and membership development.

Garrie was the first Chief Executive Officer of the Sydney 2002 Gay Games, establishing the company and attracting $4.5 million in corporate and government sponsorship for the conduct of the Games.

Before joining CPR, Garrie was a Senior Consultant in marketing, market research, communications and public relations with a business services firm working in the hospitality industry, with specific responsibility for clubs. Michelle joined CPR after seven years as a journalist with the Herald Sun, where she covered the rounds of industrial relations, education and state politics. As a result Michelle provides extensive support on our Education sector campaigns.

Since joining CPR in 2001, Michelle has worked on high-profile State Government communication campaigns including the 'Bar None' social inclusion campaign, the '4000 for Health' heart and diabetes research project, and the introduction of smoke-free dining.

David joined the Canberra CPR team after five years as the founding executive director of the Competitive Carriers’ Coalition. David led the CCC’s campaigns for fundamental reform of the policy and regulatory framework for the communications industry on behalf of all the leading competitors to Telstra.

David also led the CCC’s engagement with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission on regulatory matters ranging from anti-competitive conduct investigations to campaigns to review the pricing methodologies used by the ACCC to set prices for all regulated services.

These campaigns led ultimately to the Government’s announcements in 2009 that it would create the National Broadband Network and introduce legislation to separate Telstra’s network and retail businesses, and the ACCC’s decision in 2010 to comprehensively review its pricing principles.

Previously, David was general manager, government and public relations with another Telco and Vice President, Government Relations with Redfern Photonics.

As a long term Canberra resident, Alex began his career with in the Commonwealth Public Service, primarily on working on industry policy issues from 1975 to 1990. From 1990 to 1999 Alex was the Executive Director at the Australian Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers Association (AEEMA). During Alex’s tenure the Association doubled in size and was recognised as a highly influential association.

In early 1999, Alex joined Ericsson Australia as General Manager, Government and Regulatory with a focus on spectrum allocation and industry and research policy.

Alex joined GlaxoSmithKline Australia in September 2002, as Healthcare Environment Director, where he managed a team with responsibility for GSK’s interaction with Government on regulatory, pricing, product approvals and policy matters. Alex was appointed External Affairs Advisor, GSKA in 2009.

Leading CPR Communications Sustainability Practice, Sophie is an experienced CSR and Sustainability consultant having worked in London, Brussels and the Middle East to help clients develop, execute and effectively communicate responsible business strategies.

With a solid knowledge of international best practice, she has advised government organisations, NGOs and private sector companies across a wide range of sectors including, food & drink, FMCG, retail, energy, financial and professional services, on their sustainability programmes. She works with clients to align communications objectives with business objectives, identifying the investment and channels needed to secure senior management buy-in, employee engagement and stakeholder resonance.

She is also an official advocate for Al Gore’s Climate Project within the APAC region, working with organisations and communities to understand the importance of slowing climate change. Also a judge for the Banksia Foundation, Sophie is an established commentator on sustainability and CSR related issues for publications including, The Australian, Financial Times and Ethical Corporation.

Prior to joining CPR Communications, Sophie worked for international communications consultancy, Fleishman-Hillard (FH). Bill was a Liberal MP in the Victorian Upper House from 1992 to 2006, serving as both Leader and Deputy Leader, and remains active in the Liberal Party.

He was Parliamentary Secretary to the Victorian Premier Jeff Kennett, and was Shadow Minister for a number of areas, including Energy and Resources, Environment, Rural and Regional Development and WorkCover.

Before entering Parliament, Bill's career centred on business, finance and project development, particularly in the NT and Victoria.

Brad Green has wide-ranging connections with all levels of Government and extensive experience in the areas of government relations, community and stakeholder relations, communications planning, strategy development and issues management.

Brad has strong links with the South Australian Government, having most recently worked as Chief of Staff to Hon Kevin Foley MP. Kristy is a communications specialist who has worked across the government and corporate sector developing targeted issues management campaigns, crisis communication campaigns, media relations strategies, Government and community consultation programs and marketing communications campaigns.

Prior to joining CPR Kristy was a Senior Adviser to Qantas Airlines, responsible for issues management, media relations, media training and crisis communications. Her time at Qantas also afforded her the opportunity to develop an intimate knowledge of regional affairs and regional infrastructure planning, particularly in transport, as she held responsibility for managing media, government and community relations for Qantas’ regional carrier, QantasLink, including the airline’s international expansion.  In addition, she has advised the airline’s executive team on communications strategies during major aircraft incidents and industrial disputes.

Kristy served as the project leader for a number of Qantas’ international marketing and communications campaigns including the joint Qantas Tourism Australia G’Day LA event in the United States and the introduction of the Qantas A380 into service in the Australian and United States markets, as well as managing media and communications for the New Zealand market.

Kristy’s Government background has seen her hold Media Adviser positions at a Federal and State Government level, most recently as a Media Adviser to Tony Abbott during his time as Health Minister and throughout the 2007 election campaign. Brendan joined CPR after four and a half years as Manager, Public Affairs at one of Victoria’s largest lobby groups, the Victorian Farmers Federation.
